Episode Summary

In this podcast episode, Susan Burns interviews Sarara Corva, the founder of Undoo, a unique business in the cannabis industry. Undo is a supplement that helps clear the body and mind of too much THC. If someone has had an edible that was too strong, Undo clears the THC from the CB1 receptor, allowing the person to have clarity while still getting the benefits of the medicine they took. Sahara was inspired to create Undoo after using cannabis to deal with breast cancer in 2012. She learned about cannabis and started teaching it to seniors in Arizona, and through this process, she came up with the idea for Undoo Produced by PodConX Bodacious Women in Cannabis - https://bodacious-women-in-cannabis.simplecast.com/ Susan Burns - https://www.linkedin.com/in/sburnslegal/ Undo - https://undoo.com/ Sarara Corva - https://www.linkedin.com/in/sarara-corva-3401b854/ Recorded on Squadcast

Episode Transcription

Hello, this is your podcast host, Susan Burns. I'm also a lawyer in the cannabis industry, and if nothing delights me more than showcasing Bodacious Women in cannabis. Today we are talking with Sahara Cova and she is a founder of Undo.  and wait until you're hear about this unique business in the cannabis industry.

you're gonna love it. Welcome, Sera. Thank you. Happy to be here. Thank you for having me. Yeah. So great to have you tell, tell our listeners about your amazing business and how it relates to the cannabis industry. Well, we have a product that we've manufac. Invented patented and manufacturer called Undo, which is U N D O O.

And what Undo is, it's a supplement that is, that helps to clear the body and the mind from too much thc. So for instance, if somebody's had an edible and then. , it wasn't the right strength for 'em. It was too strong and they're not enjoying the experience and it's scaring them or whatever they're going through.

Our supplement clears that from the receptors, clears the THC from the CB one receptor and allows a person to be able to have clarity while still getting the benefits from the medicine that they took. So it's uh, it's basically. Thery that our body endogenously makes to clear our receptors naturally. So, in other words, our body.

So how li Oh, go ahead. So our body produces a, uh, compound called olic acid. That's our natural metabolizing enzyme, and that's what clears the receptors. So what's in our soft gel supplement is something called oli. , which is the same chemical, the same chemistry, asic acid. So it comes in and supplements what our body doesn't have enough, um, manufactured in the moment to straighten things out.

So, so how, how long have you been in business, Serra? Seven years.  and what inspired you to do this? This is just amazing to me. Mm-hmm. , what, what, what gave you an inspiration? I mean, it's something, one of the things I love about cannabis is the absolute creativeness of the people in this industry. And so it's

This is something I never would've thought of. What, what inspired you?

In 2012, I had breast cancer, and it was also the year that cannabis became recreational, uh, medically legal in Arizona. So people didn't know very much about it or what the products were, or not at all much about, uh, how to deal with cancer, et, etc. So I got very inter, I decided that I wanted to deal with my breast cancer in an alternative.

um, not the chemo and radiation and that sort of thing. And I learned about cannabis as I learned about it. I wanted to know more about it. And I got very actively involved, um, in doing, um, workshops and short teaching episodes for seniors. And I was going to churches in different places, volunteering my time to teach people what I was learning at the time about.

And of course in Arizona in 2012, there was no concentrates really. There was no RS O there. All there really was was flower. And for me that was fine. And what's What's rso? What's rso? Sara, let me interrupt you for a second. There was no RS O. What's R sso? RSO is Rick Simpson Oil and it's a heavily concentrated tar like substance.

is so intense and so concentrated, but if used correctly and with a educated cannabis doctor's, guidance can be very effective to help somebody get through cancer. Okay, so that wasn't available to you? That's correct. Um, there was very little of anything available really at the time, but fortunately for me, the way I used it was kind of a.

I used it in a spiritual way as opposed to relying on the cannabinoids and the THC and the other aspects of the concentrates that people are using to help themselves now. Now that there's much more known about how to use cannabis. Um mm-hmm. . So for me, one of the greatest benefits of.  is, as I said, the spiritual aspect of it is that you can get very quiet and very internal and, um, learn some things about yourself and in the learning about yourself.

There can be some healing and um, uh, self-awareness and forgiveness and in healing cancer. That is all e. . And so night after night I would smoke a little pot and work on, on my being . And between that and the other things I was doing with regard to, uh, vitamin cvs and my countertop was filled with.  a variety of supplements and things to help get through the cancer.

And it did work. I shrink a tumor that was five centimeters wide down to about two at that point as a lumpectomy. So really surprised the doctor. It would've been a very, very different, uh, outcome, um, if I had gone with the chemo radiation cuz they also wanted to do rebuilding. , you know, double mastectomy and all this crazy stuff that ectomy just didn't resonate with, with how I wanted to handle it.

So, so I started learning about cannabis and learning more and more and more. And the more I learned, the more I wanted to teach it. So I started teaching to seniors in Sun and in other parts of Arizona, and I started traveling around. I started going to conferences, medical conferences, and even was involved.

Three every other year, uh, conferences called Marijuana for Medical Professionals, which was v high level academic. Um, Education for doctors from all over the world. Some of our speakers were from all over the world, and the attendees were from all over the country and all over the world. We did it in Denver, so it was, you know, people were kind of attracted to going to Denver at that point anyway.

Um, but the medical conferences, they did us, they brought the doctors together. , which was really in my heart. What I was hoping for was to have the doctors come meet each other and learn from each other and advance the science. And so that's, that was the one end of what I was doing. And the other end was, uh, the volunteering of the education.

And one, we did a presentation at a senior center in somewhere in Arizona.  and I was there speaking and um, this cute little man was there. He's not little, he's just shorter than me. Sorry, . Anyway, his name is, you know, there's an echo and let me, let me interrupt you for a second. There's an echo in your voice.

There's a reverberation. Mm. Um, I don't know why that is. . Now it's, can you hear me? Can you It is, yeah, now it's fine. Okay. Oh, good. So, okay, great. Okay, so, so anyway, so I met this. Tell us about, I just want a clean break so that they can edit out this part in the middle here. So, thank you . So, so, so tell us about the, the, um, the man that you met that inspired you.

Yes. So I met a guy, Uh, we were both speaking and he was very helpful and very nice and knowledgeable and sweet. And uh, his name is Jimmy and he has glaucoma. He's had glaucoma for 35 years and he's been managing his glaucoma with cannabis only. He takes no pharmaceuticals cuz he's actually allergic to the drugs that they gave him and the drugs nearly killed him.

So he had heard that cannabis could help him with.  and he managed well. Yes. So for all these years he's been using cannabis to deal with the eye pressure and keeping his vision. So we became friends. We started teaching together and writing programs together, and one day while we were working on a program, I said to him, do you think you could possibly come up with something that would be like a greened out anecdote?

screened out is the word. But what, why, why were you looking for an antidote? What word? Because, um, that idea, um, especially seniors, but also pretty much everybody are using edibles these days and edibles can go south on you very quickly. , you can think everything's fine and all of a sudden, 10, 20 minutes later, the room is spinning and it can be a very seriously uncomfortable experience, paranoia, and all kinds of stuff.

And so I, we always teach people to be careful. Be careful, be careful. Don't eat too much, or you're gonna hate this and never get the benefit again because you don't like it. You're scared of it. So, , it's because people can easily have too much. That's how come we came out with the product. Really? Okay.

Because dosing is really hard with edibles and, and any kind of edible, I guess, gum, whether it's, it's very much your candy or a little fun. Yes, that's right. Even, even within one batch of gummies, you can have a gummy that's got 50 milligrams and a gummy that's got five milligrams cuz it didn't get mixed enough.

It's not to distributed evenly all the. . Yes, that's that's correct. So, and there's a lot of different ways that people can be very uncomfortable with cannabis and it's, our mission is to make sure that people are comfortable so they can learn their doses so that they can learn how much to use and what products they like, and, you know, so that was, that was the idea behind it, is that, so people wouldn't be run off by a bad experience.

so that, so that people are, are able to avail themselves of the benefit and won't be afraid to try it. And Exactly. They can try it and it's too intense. They can take this and it was, that's right. So, okay. So you asked Jimmy if he could, if he could create something, and obviously the answer is yes. Yes.

yes. Well, he's a genius and particularly a cannabis science genius. . He is been studying cannabis his whole life and Oh wow. When I asked him if he could do that, he said, yes, I think I could. And he went through his books and old, old materials. It's not information that he found easily on the, on the internet.

It's old information that he dug into. And so ultimately, once he figured out what our body naturally endogenously produce, , then he was able to go to the plant world and find it in plants. And that's how the, uh, supplement was made, was from plant parts. It's, uh, vitamin E, olive oil, and a lipitol. And a lipitol is the magic ingredient that clears the receptors.

And Oli vitol is plant derived as. Yes. That The highest concent? Yeah, the highest concentration of it that we know of is lichens. So the okay. Kind of stuff that moose, moose, mooses eat off of rocks. That's, those are lichens, you know, yellow and orange. Green, yeah. Beautiful forms. . Yep. So that's where, that's the largest amount of a lipitol in anything, but it's also in asparagus and broccoli and so many, many foods, especially vegetables that we eat.

Yeah. That's great. Um, okay, so you invented this, you patented it. Yes. And now you're on the market. So tell me, , it's all, sounds like you started with your journey with, um, what for many people is a horrible, um, diagnosis, which I imagine it still was when it happened, but you turned it into something that was manageable by, um, listening to your self and availing yourself of natural remedies.

Not that we're telling everybody to do that, but that was what was right for you. Right. And then right.  through this whole process. You met somebody who helped you, who said, yes, I can invent, I can take your idea and run with it. You invented this product. It's patented, it's on the markets for sale. It all sounds like smooth sailing or has to have been some  challenge.

So gimme one of your biggest challenges and how it turned into something better like that. I always like to ask people like, cuz we all have 'em, right?  and you think the world's gonna end, or the sky's falling, and then you're like, oh yeah, that was good. That happened because now we're doing this. Right.

Well, I guess one of the things, once Jimmy invented the product, he quickly that not only is it beneficial for, excuse me, beneficial for somebody who's had too much. . It's also beneficial for somebody who has a high tolerance and isn't getting as much cannabis as much benefit out of their cannabis as they used to.

So we found out that our product clears the receptors for people in that regard also. So somebody like Jimmy, for instance, who doesn't, who was not able to get any of the euphoric effect from cannabis any longer because he's been.  forever. And his receptors were basically clogged as they do get. So he start, when he started taking undue, he found that he was able to actually get some euphoria out of it and the pleasant feelings.

So, um, we realized that there's an entirely new market of people. All these people who just have a high tolerance and have to spend a lot more on their cannabis than they used to, cuz they have to buy a lot more to get the same. . So we found out that undue does a tolerance reset. We also found out that if you use UND undo in the morning, it clears your head for the day.

So it's really very effective for clearing the, clearing the brain, basically the receptors, the CB one specifically. So, so we found out that our product does three things, not.  and we, it was kind of a challenge to try to explain to people all the different uses of it. So in the end, the answer to that is that we've come out with three distinct and different products.

The rescue, the reset, and the morning refresh. So now as of the end of this month, we're coming out, we're doing a relaunch. It's our version two, which is gonna have all the different products, all three products in different packaging. And in one of the products, the reset, we're doing a five day tolerance reset program.

So it's all in one box. And so that's, that's that challenge. , the hardest thing of all has been to, to get the financing needed to explode in the way we need to explode. Mm-hmm. , um, that's a tough thing in this industry, isn't it? It's really tough. Yeah. Um, and, and you're not even, you're not even plant touching, right?

The That's right. Yeah. But Covid was a big bump for us. Mm-hmm. . , a lot of the people we were talking to about investing got freaked out by Covid and you know, it really, I would say Covid really proved to be about a two year setback for us. So it's, uh, it's been very challenging. Um, we, we know we've got the best product in the entire world.

We've got the only product, we have patents all over the world. Actually. We have two in the US and two.  Canada, and we've got Brazil and South Africa and several countries in the eu. So we've got patents everywhere. And now with the new products coming out and the new packaging and the new uses, we're just so ready to explode.

We're like right there. Yeah. Well, you obviously found. . Yes. . Yes. So that actually did come through, but it was a challenging and you were hanging on by your fingernails in the in between. Yeah. Yeah. You could put it that way, . Exactly. So then tell me about a, oh, go ahead. Um, one of the other things that we're working on now that has taken us years to get to and, you know, had to have the resources for it, but now we.

Human studies going on with, uh, Dr. Marion McNabb from UMAS in Dartmouth. So we've got a veteran study going on. There's 500 vets in total. Right now. We're probably in the mid 300 who have already signed up for it and what. What Marion's doing is she's doing a cannabis study with vets for P T S D and you know, serving, she actually is the legal right from the US government to do study work on people and cannabis.

That's her heart. So it's amazing. Oh, needed so donated it. So the um, in, um,  in a parallel study, undo is being used by the same veterans, so they could opt, I opt out to Stu to test undo while they're testing the cannabis. So we've got a couple hundred people. Si Yes. It's very exciting. So we got a couple hundred people signed up, uh, on that study and more coming in all the time and we're getting, we're getting data back and it's exactly as we thought it would be.

Everything is positive, we.  enjoying the product, they would recommend it to their friends. They're using it for all the different, uh, uses that, that we have now. And so it's pretty exciting. That's, uh, that's gonna make a big difference to the medical professionals in the cannabis industry. And then, yes, we've also got studies going, going that we're starting in Canada as well, so everything's like, it's hot, it's hot, hot right now.

Well, that's great. Congratulations. Thank you very much. Yep. So we're real anxious and eager for people to be able to have the products. We know how well it works and we know how it can help people to manage their cannabis experience. Really, that's what we're after. That sounds amazing. Yeah. Yeah. Um, I still am amazed that you'd thought of that.

Like, how do we undo.  because you, you know, it's always been ever since I was in college. You just have to wait it out. It right. That's right. And this works so quick and so nice. If you're having a really bad edible experience, for instance, you can pretty much count on between 20 minutes and an hour. You are totally ready, totally clear.

Edited . That's amazing. That's amazing. Yeah. So, uh, what makes you, what makes.  feel the best about what you're doing? What, what makes you happiest about what you're doing or feel most satisfied? Um, knowing that people are able to have a cannabis alternative in their life because of this product, it gives people the opportunity to use cannabis who never would've tried it would.

We're just really big cannabis advocates. Like I said, we've, we live every day knowing the benefits of it, and so to provide somebody with a way to make it comfortable for them to try and see how it works for them. That's, that's amazing. And also, I think what that we're, yeah, I can see why it would, it should.

and, and the work you're doing in the medical profession so that it becomes more available to people as an option? Yes, because the medical profession is so, and I don't mean this in a, you know, I'm not saying a bad thing, but they're so ignorant about the whole thing because there's been no training. I mean, most doctors don't even know about the endocannabinoid system, let alone That's right.

Cannabis and what receptors it hits, and you know what strain you use for which.  ailment and all that kind of stuff. I mean, it's a very sophisticated plant that works so very sophist sophisticated that works so well for, I call it a miracle in a plant. But, um, yeah, not that all plants aren't miracles, but anyway.

I mean, it's just, it's the more, I mean, I learn so much every single day, and the more I learn, the more amazed I am by this plant, and also how demonized it has become. And, , how much like benefit we've gone without for all these years. You know, we're so far behind. But the work that you're doing Yes. Is so needed and it's great that we're gonna have the benefit of, of what you're doing.

So thank you. Thank you, thank you. Yeah, it's, it's very, we believe we were born for this, you know, this is the mission we came to earth.  and you're doing it. So not everybody fo follows the call. So good for you. Right? Well, every time we think of, I sure hasn't been of throwing up our, anytime we think of throwing our up our hands some miracle.

Little miracle happens that says, get back on. You know, this is your path, you're gonna be okay. It's gonna work out fine. So we go. So. . I, I think you're bodacious. I think it's amazing what you're doing, . But what about you? What makes you, what, what about you is bodacious in your mind? What, what is it? Well, I would say to shorten it, it is that when I commit to something, I take it to the end.

I stay with it. And when change happens, we ride with the change, we go with it, we don't fight it. Um, yeah, I would say that's, that's probably the big one. I wrote a bunch of notes down, but I guess , trying to remember what I wrote. Well, if you wanna, if you wanna take a look and add more, you can, but I think what you just said is pretty bodacious.

I mean, it's easy to quit. Okay. Here's one, and be discouraged. Mm-hmm. . Yes. Here's one I say

I like to in, in talking to other people about being bodacious is to remember that we're with women and that the things we care.  are often quite different than what others care about. And we have to take care of our personal needs, attend to our hormones, and consider our emotions as these factors are real and they get more pronounce as we get older.

And we do need to have balance in our life. So taking care of the, of us personally is as important as taking care of the business and to find the balance. And I think that that's part of being bodacious. . That's an interesting interpretation and I love it. Thank you. Thank you for that. Yes. . You're Bodacious.

You are Bodacious. S Thank you for being on the show. Tell tell everybody where we can find Undo and when it'll, it'll be available for sale in the next month. You say Raz? Yes. So we have a really nice. . Um, the website is undo und undo.com, U N D O o.com. And then we've got all these other, we've got Instagram and Facebook and Twitter and TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, all of them.

And it's all Oh my goodness. At undo. Yeah, at undo Undo hq at Undo HQ Lake headquarters. Easy to remember. Und undo hq. Yeah. Yeah. So that's all that. And then,  we're bringing on distributors. We have a major, uh, exclusive worldwide distributor and he is bringing on some very well vetted strong distributors throughout the United States.

So, uh, that's gonna just keep, we'll just keep bringing on distributors and once and once the product's released, which will be the end of this. , it'll be a lot easier to get it. They can get it through Amazon, they'll be able to get it online through on dues website. And eventually when the distributors are out and running around, it's gonna be at all the dispensaries.

Um, smoke shops, convenience stores, um, even eventually, they don't know it yet, but Costco . And, uh, that's great. So, so for now, you'll be able to buy it online and eventually you look for it in your nearest retail establishment that sells all your favorite can cannabis goods. Exactly right. So that's right.

Sahara Cova with Undo u n d oh oh. Thank you so much for making the time to talk with us today, Sahara. And also thank you for what you do. Thanks for following the call. The pleasure talking with you and alerting about it. Thank you, Susan. Thank you. I hope to meet you in person. Yes, that would be awesome.
